Mary Louise Brugger, age 94 lifelong Gallatin County resident died Friday, January 1, 2010 in the Harrisburg Medical Center surrounded by her family. Louise as most knew her was born near Leamington, Illinois on August 8, 1915 to the late Robert and Margaret (Hine) Hale. Louise was a homemaker and her life was her family. She was an extremely giving person who always wanted to take care of her family. She was a hard worker on the farm for many years and was a wonderful wife to her first husband Paul Smith who preceded her death and then her second husband who also preceded her, Art Brugger. She was a wonderful Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister and friend. She will be greatly missed.

Louise is survived by her son, Dr. Paul Barton Smith, a daughter, Mary Alice Luckett, a brother, William Hale, and a sister Blanche Rude. She had 6 living Grandchildren, Scott Luckett, Lynn Arnold, Paula Lambert, Dr.Garrett Smith, Brett Smith and Jeff Smith. 10 living Great Grandchildren Rachael, Jessica, Elaina, Mary and Blake Luckett, Chase Arnold, Zachary and Nicholas Lambert, Tia and Grace Smith. 2 Great Great Grandchildren Isabel and Gabrielle. She was also preceded by 3 Sisters, Elsie Sutton, Pauline Drone, and Helen Hewitt a brother Vincent Hale and 1 Grandchild Brad Luckett and 1 Great Grandchild Samantha Luckett..

Louise's service was held on Sunday, January 03, 2010 at the Cox and Son Funeral Home in Ridgway with her Grandson Scott Luckett officiating. Louise was laid to rest in Jackson Cemetery by her first husband, Paul Smith.
