Mary F. Durham

Mary F. Durham, age 73, of Carmi but longtime resident of Shawneetown, died peacefully on Nov. 23, 2017 in the Linda White Hospice Center in Evansville, IN.  Mary was born in Rosiclare, IL on July 8, 1944 to the late Raymond and Nellie (Brooks) Osborne.  She had worked in local nursing homes but mostly was a homemaker.  She loved to visit with her grandchildren enjoyed her home.  She will be missed.

Mary is survived by 2 sons, Rodney (Karen) Durham of Sturgis, Ky and Thomas Durham of Shawneetown, 1 daughter, Amanda Gwaltney of Carmie, IL and 2 sisters, Anita (Orville) Vann of Shawneetown and Barbara Brown of Marion, IL.  She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.  Mary is preceded by 2 sons, Ray and Willy, a granddaughter Kaitlyn Gwaltney and 3 brothers, Ray, Gene and James Osborne and 1 sister, Shirley Followell.

Visitation for Mary will be Sunday, November 26, 2017 at the Cox & Son Funeral Home in Shawneetown from 12 Noon to 2:00 PM.  A graveside service will immediately follow the visitation at the Westwood Cemetery near Shawneetown, with Rev. Mike Rushing officiating
