Mary Ruth Rider

Mary Ruth Rider, age 86, died peacefully on Thursday, April 02, 2015 in the Mt. Vernon Nursing and Rehab Center in Mt. Vernon, IN. Mary was born in Cave In Rock on March 11, 1929 to the late Robert and Nillie Lampbert. She was married in 1947 to Willard Rider who preceded her in death. Mary was a Baptist by faith and had attended the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Cave In Rock. She loved to sew and cook along with fishing in the Saline Creek and Ohio river. She was a good mother, grandmother, sister and friend, she will be missed.

Mary Ruth is survived 2 sons, Earl and Linda Rider of New Haven, and Mike and Sharon Rider of Evansville, IN. 2 daughters, Judy and David Moore of West Virginia and Rita and Donnie James of Evansville, IN. 6 grandchildren, Rob Rider, Kenneth Cox, Michelle Cox, Mandy Moore, Aaron James and April James. 2 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, along with brothers, Utah, James, and Roosevelt Lampbert and sisters, Robie Irby, Wawneeda Fry, Mildred Rider, June Lampbert and Myrtle Lampbert.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at the Mt. Zion Cemetery near Cave In Rock, IL. The service will begin at 1:00 PM and those attending should go directly to the cemetery.
