Melvin D. Gordon

Melvin D. Gordon, age 48 of Shawneetown died peacefully on May 18, 2011 at his home in Shawneetown. Melvin was born on May 25, 1962 to the late Hiram Gordon and Jane (Marshall) Burns who survives. He was a laborer most of his life. He enjoyed working on lawn mowers and helping people. Melvin was married to Sherryl (Stewart) Gordon who survives. Melvin was always a very friendly person and will be missed.
He is also survived by 2 Step Daughters, Jessica Williams and Tori Basham, a brother, David Gordon and 2 sisters, Jenny Lou Gibbs and Darlene Gibbs. Along with 7 grandchildren.
Per Melvin's request his body will be cremated and there will be no public service.
Cox and Son Funeral Home in Shawneetown is entrusted with the arrangements.
