Norma Rousseau

Norma “Kay” Rousseau, age 88, of Eldorado, IL passed away on December 30, 2023, at Wabash Senior Living in Carmi, IL.

Kay was born in Beaver Dam, KY on March 15, 1935, to Herbert Cayle and Elizabeth (Greer) Higgs. She was of the Baptist Faith. She enjoyed taking classes at SIC and traveling. Kay loved her grandchildren. Kay was a kind and wonderful person.

Kay is survived by a daughter, Karen Robinson, Huntsville, AL; daughter-in-law, Brandy; three grandchildren, Truitt VanMeter, Nicole Robinson, Tyler Robinson; sister, Gail (Daniel) Thayer, Omaha, IL; brother, Alan (Kathy) Higgs, Chester, IL.

In addition to her parents Kay was preceded in death by her husband, James Rousseau; three brothers, Wilton Higgs, Glen Higgs, Lloyd Higgs, one son, Larry Wayne VanMeter; granddaughter, Carly Robinson.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 6, 2023, at Cox & Son Funeral Home in Ridgway, IL. Burial will follow the service at Bethlehem Cemetery near Omaha, IL. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
