Patsy Ann Gothard Beardsley went to be with Jesus on September 9, 2013 at 6:10 AM surrounded by family and loved ones. She was born December 14, 1948 in Mississippi, Co. Missouri, to Robert and Ruth (Pate) Loomes, who proceeded her in death. May 28, 1966 Patsy Married Charles W. Beardsley in Tanner Mo., Who survives. To this union was born 3 children, Charles D. Beardsley of Harrisburg, Sheri (Jim) Willis, of Ridgway, and SaDonna (Gregg) Johnson, Belvidere, Il.and special daughter-in-law Kathy Beardsley, Hardin County 10 grandchildren, McKayla, Jamie, McKenzie, Dorsey, and Sionainn Willis, Ridgway; Dylan Smith, Destiny Meyers, Alexia, Gregg Jr. and Whisper Johnson, Belvidere, IL She leaves behind 9 living brothers, Cliff Pate, Jim and Bill Gothard, Van, Alfred, Dicky, Calvin, and Charlie Loomes, Bob Loomis. 2 living sisters; Lucy Ellis and Irene Marti. She was proceeded in death by a brother Steve in a farming accident, and a sister that died at birth Patsy worked a Kroger's in the Deli where she fried hundreds of pounds of Chicken over 14 years. There she leaves behind many wonderful friends, who stood beside her through her trying time. She was very active in her church, River of Life United Pentecostal Church for many years. She has rolled many, many batches of Dumplings for Chicken and Dumpling dinners. I believe we could say Patsy was one of the best cooks around. She loved to cook and she loved having folks at her house to eat, always feeding a bunch of hungry people. She was also the Church Reporter for Foreign Missionaries that the church sponsored around the world. A host of friends she leaves at the church, Pastor and Sister Gentry, and many long-time friends that will certainly miss her. Patsy loved people and she will be missed all over this community. Services will be held at River of Life UPC on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 with visitation from 10am to 12 pm and funeral at 12 pm with Pastor Bobby Gentry officiating.
Burial will be in Hogan cemetery in Shawneetown, IL. In lieu of flowers donations may be made for the family to help with their expenses. Envelopes will be available at the church. Cox & Son Funeral Home in Ridgway is entrusted with the arrangements.
