Phillip D. Brazier, age 76, longtime resident of the Saline Mine Community south of Shawneetown passed on this life, January 29, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family. Phillip was born in Shawneetown on July 22, 1946 to the late Raymond D. Jennings and Mildred (Brazier) Dortch. On March 16, 1968 he married the love of his life, Patricia Ann (Martin) Brazier who preceded him death in December of 2022.
Phillip served his country in the United States Air Force and was a farmer most of his life along with working over 20 years before retiring at Southern FS. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and gardening. He always had a story for you and was the happiest when he was with his family and friends. Phillip and Ann were both hardworking, God fearing people, and their family was there life. Phillip will be missed by many but his legacy will live on.
Phillip is survived by his 3 daughters, Mindy Robbins (Jim Rigsby), Carla (Chad) Murphy, and Debbie (Shannon) Booles. Grandchildren, Lindsey (Matt) Marvin, Madison Reed, Will Howard, Luke Robbins, Claire Booles, and Carmen Bradley. 1 great grandchild, Lincoln Reed. Phillip is also survived by a brother, John (Jacquelyn) Dortch and a sister, Marilyn (Don) Hopson., step father, David DortchMany cousins and friends. He was also preceded by a brother Carrol Dortch and his step father David Dortch.
Visitation for Phillip will be on Friday, Feb.3, 2023 at the Cox & Son Funeral Home in Shawneetown from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. His funeral will be on Saturday, Feb. 4, 2023 at the funeral home starting at 11:00 AM with Scott Luckett officiating. He will then be laid to rest in the Reid Cemetery in Saline Mines near his home where Military rites will be accorded.
