Richard L. Brugger, age 71 longtime resident of Shawneetown died Saturday, March 16, 2013 in Ferrell Hospital. Richard was born southeast of Ridgway on the family farm on February 24, 1942 to the late George and Pauline (Schoney) Brugger. He attended St. Joseph Grade School and Ridgway High School. Richard served his country during Vietnam in the U.S. Army. He worked most of his life on the farm. Richard was always a very kind and polite person and always very quiet. He loved to hike and explore in caves, really loved riding his motorcycle in years past. He was a good son, brother and uncle and will be missed.

Richard is survived by 2 brothers, Steve (Annette) Brugger of Ridgway and Ken Brugger of Ridgway. Many nieces and nephews. He is preceded also in death by 4 brothers, Michael, Charles, Donald and George.

Visitation for Richard will be on Sunday, March 17, 2013 at the Cox & Son Funeral Home in Shawneetown from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass for Richard will be on Monday, March 18, 2013 at 10:00 AM at the St. Mary's Chapel of the St. Kateri Church in Shawneetown. Fr. Steven Beatty will celebrate and interment will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Ridgway. Military rites will be accorded at the gravesite.
