Robert Edward Bainbridge, age 79, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend was received by the Lord Thursday, October 22, 2009 at his home after an extended illness.

Bob as he was known by, was born March 12, 1930 in Harrisburg, Illinois. He was the only son of 6 children born to Earl and Eva (Hibbs) Bainbridge. Bob attended school at Yellow Springs in Hardin County. He then enlisted into the US Army serving his country in Panama from 1948 to 1952. On June 14, 1952 he was united in marriage to Marie Daymon, the couple lived and made their home in the Yellow Springs Community for 57 years.

Soon this home was blessed with 4 children which was the greatest joy of Bob's life. Later in life came 7 grandchildren which he loved dearly and spent many joyful times with. Bob worked at Minerva Oil Co. for 10 years, leaving there to be employed by Missouri Cement Co. for 27 years. He retired from Dravo Cement Co. in 1992. He was a very handy man at the work place and at his home, give him a challenge and he would fix it. He loved spending time with his family when they needed him and was always there for them. Bob was a master gardener, he loved to grow vegetable and then share them with his family and friends.

Bob is survived by his loving wife Marie, his loving daughters, Debra (Dennis) Winters, and Tonya (Brian) Hester. 2 loving sons, Brent Bainbridge and Bryan (Kim) Bainbridge. 7 Grandchildren, Heather Winters, Chris Bainbridge, Joe Bainbridge, Rayanna Bainbridge, Maycee Hathaway Hester, Brayden Bainbridge, and Will David Hester. 4 Sisters, Norma Bainbridge, Earlene Fields, Phyllis (Kenneth) Richards, and Delores (Gerald) Frey. He was preceded in death by his parents, and 1 sister Laverne Mabrey.

Bob will be remembered for his love of family and his family feels they been truly blessed to know Bob accepted Christ as his savior and was baptised. He is now with the Lord but will remain in our hearts forever.

It was Bob's request to be cremated and a memorial service will be held on October 30, 2009 starting at 11:00 AM at the Mt. Zion Church General Baptist Church.

Arrangments are entrusted to the Cox and Son Funeral Home in Ridgway, IL.
