Rodger D. Grace, age 69 died unexpectedly in Ferrell Hospital, Eldorado, IL. Rodger was born in Eldorado on June 5, 1945 to the late Ezra and Edith (Jones) Grace.
He served his country in the U.S. Army being stationed in Korea and was a Sgt. He was a 32nd degree Mason. In 1986 he married the love of his life, Carol (Kee) Grace who survives. Rodger was retired after 45 years with Peabody Coal as a faithful and hard worker. He loved riding around with his wife in her little convertible. Rodger loved to fish, hunt and old westerns but really loved his Boston Terrier and Chihuahua dogs. Rodger was a good husband, son, father and grandfather and will be missed.
He is survived by his wife, Carol of Shawneetown along with 4 daughters, Michael & Zac Johnson, Kristi and David Wriston, Paula and Chip Barche and Angela and Terry Smith. Granddaughter, Paige Wriston and grandson, Michael Modglin.
Visitation will be on Friday, August 8, 2014 at the Calvary Promise Church in Shawneetown from 5:30 to 7:00 PM with a memorial service immediately following at the church with Rev. Buddy Hubbard officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family ask donations be made to the Children's Shriner Hospital in his memory. Envelopes will be available at the church.
