Rosa Bertha Money

Rosa Bertha Money, age 94, of Ridgway, died Monday, July 09, 2012 as her grandson John Money held her hand, in the Wabash Christian Center in Carmi, Il. Bertha as most knew her was born in Manchester, Ky on July 16, 1917 to the late John and Myrtle (Robinson) Hollin. She was married to Everett Money who preceded her in death. Bertha was a strong independent woman . She loved her family, was a hardworker and always enjoyed her grandchildren. She loved to be outside with her flowers and had very good green thumb. She will be missed around Ridgway as she walked through town so much over the years.

She is survived by a daughter, Joanne Phillips Alvey and her husband Joe of Owensboro, Ky, daughter, Edna (Bobby) Anker of Kissimee, Fl, and a son John Money of Norris City. 9 grandsons of which one of them John Money who she raised as her own son. 3 Granddaughters and 2 special great granddaughters Lexie and Madison Money. A special daughter in law Linda Hendrix and her husband Bub. She was preceded in death by 2 sons, Clarence and Paul Money, and a daughter Jean Money.

A Graveside service for Bertha will be on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at 1:00 PM at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Pattyville, KY. The family will receive friends at the Pleasant Grove Church next to the cemetery from 11:00 to 1:00 on Thursday.

Rev. Myren Howard will officiate and the family asks in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the cemetery in her memory at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 296 Askins Rd, Fordsville, KY 42343 or email information to: myren@bellsouth.net
