Ryan Kilmer

Ryan K. Kilmer, 46, of Shawneetown, IL, passed away on November 14, 2021. He is the son of Karen Bard (James) Keasler of Ridgway and Keith (Jo) Kilmer of Buncombe. He was born on September 17, 1975, and graduated from Gallatin County High School. He worked as an electrician and had certifications in radioactive safety, programmable logic controllers, nuclear monitoring, and an extensive list of offshore certifications.

Ryan was able to use his talent and handy skills to help friends. He loved telling stories, spending time with friends, and being with his family. He found joy in being able to make people laugh and spending time enjoying life with the people he loved.

He is survived by his parents, two brothers, Brad Kilmer of Evansville, IN and Bruce Kilmer of Oslo, Norway; three sisters, Abigail Keasler, Champaign, IL and Kallie Keasler of St. Louis, MO, and Sarah Kilmer;  three aunts, Denise (Al) White of North Myrtle Beach, SC, Diane (Jerry) Love of Longs, SC, and Cecilia (Mark) Wilson of Bussey, IA; three uncles, Bruce (Linda) Bard of Folsom, LA, Rick (Pam) Bard of Marion, IL and Rex (Jaz) Barnhart of Henderson, KY; and cousins, LaDawn Avis, Brian White, Julie Graves, David Graves, Katie Hepker, Drew Wilson, Michael McLachlan, and Michael Mrocka; and a special friend, Cheryle Dozier Gunter. He was preceded in death by his brother Kris Kilmer of Ridgway;  his grandparents Ike and Mary Bard of Shawneetown, George Kilmer of Shawneetown, and Clyde and Nigel Barnhart of Henderson, KY; an aunt Tawana Mrocka of Evansville, IN; an uncle Ron Barnhart of Ft. Lauderhills, FL; and a cousin James McLachlan of Covington, LA.

Visitation at St. Kateri in Ridgway, IL will be Saturday, November 20, 2021 beginning at 9 a.m. with the funeral mass at 11 a.m. with Father Vincent Mukasa Celebrating Mass, Burial will immediately follow in St. Joseph Cemetery where he rest next to his brother.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Ryan’s memory may be made to the Gallatin County Food Bank.

Masks are required to be worn when in the church.
