Sharyon (Grant) Ulbrich Cox

Jan 30, 1943 — Aug 30, 2026

Saint Charles, MO

Sharyon (Grant) Ulbrich Cox, born January 30, 1943, in Ridgway, Illinois, to the late Clyde & Hildred (Wilson) Grant, passed away on August 30, 2026, in St. Charles, Missouri, surrounded by her loving family.

Sharyon will be remembered as a woman who lived with joy, warmth, and a wonderful sense of celebration. She was extravagant and over-the-top in the very best way, bringing energy and delight to everyone and everything she touched. Family and friends were deeply important to her, and she was especially known for putting on the best parties and making birthdays feel truly special.

Christmas held a special place in Sharyon’s heart. She loved it with the excitement of a little child waiting to open presents and celebrate, and her enthusiasm became one of the great joys of her life. Her collection of Christmas decorations was so extensive that it required off-site storage, a detail that perfectly reflected how wholeheartedly she embraced the season. She also loved decorating her home with flowers and lights, not only at Christmas time but throughout the year, making it welcoming and beautiful for all who came by to enjoy a lasting reflection of her generous spirit and her gift for making others feel at home.

She found happiness in hosting parties, celebrating birthdays, and creating festive, memorable moments for the people she loved. Those gatherings were an expression of who she was: thoughtful, spirited, and devoted to making life brighter for others. Her loved ones said she will be extremely missed by all whose lives she touched.

She is survived by her sons, Dr. Cary W. (Cheri) Ulbrich and Dr. Jamie G. (Dr. Sherri L.) Ulbrich. She is also survived by her stepdaughters, Leslie (Brad) Thompson, and Tracy Cox. Her love continues through her grandchildren, Erica (Keith) Kossmeyer, Kayla (Tyler) Knuckles, Dr. Rachel (Paul) Schuler, Grace Ulbrich, John Ulbrich, and step-grandchildren Brice Thompson, Ellen Thompson, and Blake Thompson. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren Leighton Knuckles, James Ryden Knuckles, Bennett Kossmeyer, Blair Kossmeyer, and Jensen Arliss Knuckles. Her beloved cat, Abby, was also a cherished part of her life and home. Along with other family and the countless friends she had.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Hildred Grant, and husband, Robert G. “Bob” Cox.
