Shirley A Bratcher

Shirley A. Bratcher, age 81 of Ridgway passed this life on September 19, 2015 in the Wabash Christian Center in Carmi surrounded by her family. Shirley was born in Fordsville, Ky on August 26, 1934 to the late Callahan and Wilma (Jones) Whitt. She was married on August 30, 1950 to Edwin Bratcher who survives.

Shirley was a faithful member of the Ridgway First Baptist Church where she was the Church Treasurer for many years. She was a member of the Glorybeam Sunday School Class, loved to quilt and avidly followed the St. Louis Cardinal Baseball team. In years past she loved to garden and be outside. Shirley was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend and will be missed by many.

Shirley is survived by her husband of 65 years Ed Bratcher of Ridgway, 2 Sons, Dale (Amy) Bratcher of Ridgway, Kevin (Melinda) Bratcher of Carmi, 2 daughters, Bonnie (Larry) Waters of Evansville, IN and Gloria (John) Choate of Carmi. 7 grandchildren, Brandy (Lee) Zeller, Adam, Bailey and Lauren Bratcher, Jason and Tyler Choate, Carrie (Tim) Lazich, 1 great grandchild, Madeline. 1 Brother, Darrell Whitt.

Visitation for Shirley will be on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 from 5:00 P to 8:00 P at the Cox & Son Funeral Home in Ridgway. Her funeral will be on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at the funeral home starting at 11:00 AM. Rev. Bob Pollard will officiate and interment will follow at the Jackson Cemetery near Ridgway.
