Shirley M. Clifford

Shirley M. Clifford, age 81 of New Haven, IL passed on this life peacefully on December 11, 2016 in the Carmi Manor.  Shirley was born in Carmi on September 30, 1935 to the late Cecil and Hattie (Heil) Brewer.  On September 4, 1954 she married Hubert “Pee Wee” Clifford of New Haven.   She was a homemaker and spent her whole life taking care of her family. In her younger years she loved to be outside fishing, hunting do things with her children.  She loved crafts and painting and always liked to dance.  She had a wonderful soul and will be missed so much.

Shirley is survived by her husband of 62 years, Pee Wee Clifford, 2 sons, Hubert and Carl Clifford of New Haven, 2 daughters, Evelyn Durbin of New Haven and Threasa (Eric) Williams of Carmi, IL. 15 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.  2 sisters, Carla Alexander of Henderson, KY and Judy Certain of Cincinnati, Ohio.  She was preceded in death 2 sisters, Virginia and Dodie.

Visitation for Shirley will be on Thursday, December 15, 2016 from 10:00 am to 11:00 AM at the Cox & Son Funeral Home in New Haven.  A graveside service will immediately follow at the Union Ridge Cemetery near New Haven.
