Sonja M. Mobley, age 81, longtime New Haven resident passed on this life, September 10, 2022 in Evansville IN after an extended illness.  Sonja was born on July 12, 1941 in Petersburg, IN to the late Rev. Henry and Ellen (Phillips) Davis.   On May 19, 1961 she married her soulmate, Bob Mobley who survives.  They spent 61 years together in marriage.

Sonja was a Nurse for over 30 years.  She loved Drawing and Painting and was very artistic.  She loved to sew, her flowers but mostly taking care of her patients.   She was raised in a Christian home and her values of the Lord never wavered.  She would always speak to you on faith.   She had a contagious smile and will be remembered on how much she loved her family Sonja and Bob were members of the Church of Life in Petersburg but most recently had been attending The Roads in Norris City.

Sonja is survived by her husband Bob Mobley, a son Donnie Mobley and husband, Marshall Johnston of Florida, 2 daughters, Jackie (Rick) Vaughn of Norris City and Nancy Mobley of Carmi.  A brother, Mark (Sandy) Davis of Petersburg, IN and a sister, Lana (Bill) Myerholtz of Amarillo Texas.  2 Grandchildren, Jessica (Braden) Tharp and Andrea Johnson, 5 Great grandchildren, Brilyn, Jathan, Kaitlin, Trenton and Brooklyn and 1 great great, Hudson.  She was also preceded by 2 sisters, Garnett Abell and Joanne Watts and a brother Dwight Davis.

Visitation for Sonja will be on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at the Union Ridge Presbyterian Church near New Haven from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.  Her funeral will immediately follow at the church with Rev. Greg Davis officiating.  She will then be laid to rest in the church cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Lung Association (Pulmonary Fibrosis) in her memory.  You may also leave a note of comfort to the family at www.coxandson.com
