Stephen Dwayne Pfifer passed away on August 18, 2026, in Harrisburg, Illinois, at the age of 55. Stephen was born on May 21, 1971, in Eldorado, Illinois to Harold Pfifer, and the late Donna (Klucsarits) Pfifer.
He is survived by his father, Harold (Joreen) Pfifer; his children, Jocelyn Pfifer, Josh Jackson, Matthew Wood, and Delilah Wood; and a brother, Jay (Jennifer) Pfifer. He also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Donna (Klucsarits) Pfifer; his grandparents, Clarence and Marabeth Pfifer; his niece, Jillian Pfifer; and his grandmother, Joan Pumphrey.
Stephen was known as a true free spirit. He lived life on his own terms, guided by an honest heart and a strong sense of individuality. His dry sense of humor lit up every room; making people laugh came naturally to him. Generous and open-hearted, he was the kind of person who would give anyone the shirt off his back, always willing to help someone in need.
Stephen was an avid fan of NHRA racing. He loved to watch drag racing. He also had a passion for cooking and loved cooking for his daughter and loved ones.
Visitation for Stephen will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Cox & Son Funeral Home Ridgway, located at 209 S Jarrell Street, Ridgway, IL 62979. The funeral service will follow at the same location from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. Afterward, burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery in Ridgway, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
Stephen Dwayne Pfifer’s spirit, kindness, and laughter will remain in the hearts of those who loved him, and his memory will be cherished always.
