Steve Green

Steven Green, age 83 lifelong resident of Shawneetown died peacefully Tuesday, November 16, 2010 in the Saline Care Nursing Center. Steve as most knew him was born in Old Shawneetown on Decembr 1, 1926 to George and Myra (Anderson) Green. Steve proudly served his country during World War II in the Army. He was married to Clara Jean (Thrailkill) who preceded him in death. Steve was well known throughout the area for his Plumbing business, which he retired from after 45 years of business. Steve a member of the Lions Club, American Legion and the First Baptist Church in Shawneetown. He was a good Husband, Father, Brother, Grandfather and Friend, he will be missed by the community.

Steve is survived by 3 Sons, Mike Green of Shawneetown, Roger Wilson of Cordova, TN, and Jackie Thrailkill of St. Paul, MN. 2 Daughters, Sharon (Leo) Foster of Morganfield, KY, and Loretta Young of Lincoln, IL. 1 Brother, Cecil Green of East St. Louis, IL and a Sister in Law Anna Green of Shawneetown. Along with 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.

Services for Steve will be Saturday, November 20, 2010 at the Cox & Son Funeral Home in Shawneetown at 1:00 PM with Rev. Jack Hall officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home after 11:00 AM on Satruday. Steve will be buried in the Westwood Cemetery in Shawneetown with Military rites
