Steve McGuire

Steve McGuire age 68, of Tucson, AZ, formerly of Gallatin County (Cottonwood Community) passed on this life on January 24, 2018 in Arizona.  He was born on April 30, 1949 in Herald's Prairie Township, Illinois to Edward L and Zola  (Wood) McGuire.

He resided in Tucson, Arizona and previously resided in Springfield, Illinois. He was retired from working for the Illinois Department of Agriculture, Bureau of Weights and Measures.  He was a graduate of Ridgway High School and attended Southeastern Illinois College and graduated from Wabash Valley College. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and an American Legion member.  He was an avid outdoorsman, especially hunting and fishing.  He also enjoyed backgammon, and was a member of the Sangamon Valley Backgammon club and was the 2009 Illinois Challenge Cup team.  He loved visiting with his friends and family.  He had a contagious smile that would always light up a room.  Steve was a good son, brother and friend and will be missed.

Steve is survived by sisters, Joan Harrison of Green Valley, Arizona and Jane McGuire of Oro Valley, Arizona. Nieces, Lynn Weed of Chandler, Arizona, Susan Muller of Arlington Heights, Illinois, Tara Ostlund of Decatur, Illinois.  He also has 1 great-niece and 2 great-nephews and his Ex-wife, Barbara Winner of Springfield, Illinois.  Steve was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Wood Edwards.

Steve’s wishes were to be cremated and he will inurned at Arizona Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Marana, Arizona.
