Ted W. Cowsert, age 74 of Orange City, Florida passed away January 1, 2009 in Orange City after an extended illness. He was surrounded by his family. Ted was born on June 4, 1934 in the Saline Mines area south of Shawneetown to the late Charles Jr. and Emma (Thompson) Cowsert.
On Feb. 19, 1959 he married the love of his life, Christiane (Forgit) Cowsert in Rochefort, France. Ted served his country for 23 years in the United States Army and then became Chief of Police in Ridgway before moving to Florida, where he was a home builder, painter, and drove for Deland Ford. He enjoyed Golf, fishing, and spending time with his family. Ted was a good man, Husband, Son, Father, Grandfather, Brother and friend, he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Funeral Service will held at the Cox and Son Funeral Home in Ridgway, on January 17, 2009 at 2:00 PM with the family receiving friends after 1:00 PM. Interment will be in the Wolfcreek Cemetery in Eldorado with Military Rites.
