Theresa C Austin

Theresa C. Austin, age 76 of Paducah, KY but formerly of Ridgway and Hardin County, IL died on Jan. 9, 2015 in Lourdes Hospital in Paducah. Theresa was born in Ridgway, IL on September 11, 1938 to the late Cecil and Zerita (Pfister) Drone. She was married to Gary D. Austin and was a homemaker during their marriage.

She then went to work at the ASCS office in Golconda, IL until she retired. As Theresa loved to help others, she began volunteering after retirement at both Lourdes Hospital and St. Nicholas Clinic in Paducah. Theresa was a member of the St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Paducah. She was strong in her Catholic faith, always turning to it for strength. She loved to read and garden and enjoyed attending the theatre and symphony. Theresa enjoyed traveling with her circle of friends both in the United States and abroad. She was known for her organizational skills, was often referred as a ""classy"" lady, and many commented on her beautiful silver hair. . Theresa was a beautiful soul, a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and friend and will be missed.

Theresa is survived by a son, Greg Austin (Karen White) of Marion, VA, a daughter, Nancy (Joe) Drone of Eldorado, a brother, Dennis (Delores) Drone of Tallua, IL, a sister, Betty Hale of Raleigh, IL and a sister in law, Dot Drone of Ridgway, IL. 3 grandchildren, Tyler (Breea) Austin and Trevor Austin and Izak Climer, 4 great grandchildren, Eva and Savanna Climer and Mya and Camden Austin. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Judy, and 3 brothers, Bill, Marion, and Samuel Drone.

Visitation for Theresa will be on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the St. Mary's Chapel of St. Kateri Catholic Church in Shawneetown. Her funeral mass will immediately follow starting at 1:00 PM at the church with Fr. Steven Beatty and Fr. Pat Reynolds celebrating. Interment will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Elizabethtown, IL.

A memorial service will be held at the St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Paducah on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2015 at 2 PM.

In lieu of flowers the family ask donations be made to the building fund of St. Kateri Catholic Church, envelopes will be available at the church.
