Tony Goforth

Tony Ray Goforth, age 62 of Shawneetown passed on this life, July 11, 2019 in Deaconess Hospital, Evansville, IN.  Tony was born in New Haven, IL on August 3, 1956 to the late Janice (Goforth) James.  He was raised by his mother Janice and step father George James who also preceded him in death.

Tony served his country in the U.S. Army, loved to do mechanic work, but his real passion was music, he had been in many bands over the years.  He was a good father, son, brother and friend and will be missed.

Tony is survived by his children, Lauren Goforth of Shawneetown, Joanie Goforth of Harrisburg, Megan Goforth of Chicago, and Jonathan Grisham of Henderson, KY.  His companion of 18 years, Norma Cobb, 2 brothers, Jeff (Becky) James of Ridgway, Donnie (Ann) James of Paris, TN and a sister, Julie (Katie) James of Evansville, IN.  He was also preceded by 3 sisters, Beverly Clines, Shelly James and Tammy James.

A private family graveside service will be held at Union Ridge Cemetery near New Haven, IL with military rites.
