Vida Jean Holloway

Vida Jean (Willis) Holloway, age 70, longtime Old Shawneetown resident passed on this life, January 13, 2017 from a sudden illness.  Vida was born in Eldorado, IL on December 10, 1946 to the late Maurice (Poss) and Eliza (Rister) Willis.   Vida was a animal lover especially her dogs and loved to fish.  She will be remembered for her wit and smile and her concern for others.  Vida was a good person with a wonderful soul and will be missed.

Vida is survived by her brother, D.R. and Sandy Willis of Shawneetown along with nieces and nephews and a lifelong friend Ricki Watters.  She is preceded in death by her parents, a brother Lee Ray Willis and her fist husband Tom Joyner.

Visitation for Vida will be on Monday, January 16, 2017 at the Cox & Son Funeral Home in Shawneetown from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.  Her funeral service will immediately follow at the funeral home starting at 1:00 PM.  Rev. David Auxier will officiate and she will be laid to rest near her mother in the Jackson Cemetery in Ridgway, IL.
