Virginia L. Fillingim, age 86, lifelong Ridgway resident passed on this life, December 29, 2019 in O’Fallon, IL Virginia was born in Ridgway on February 18, 1933 to Irene Crayne, and raised by her aunt and uncle, Pete and Florence Pittman. She graduated from Ridgway High School and on November 27, 1955 married the love of her life, Levert (Lee) Fillingim who preceded her in death in 2002.
Virginia loved to meet her friends at the Drug store for morning coffee and fellowship, she loved to shop and be with her friends, but mostly loved being with her family. Virginia was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was always so kind and courteous with a beautiful soul. She dedicated her life to her loved ones providing them with endless wisdom, support, and encouragement. No greater gift can be given. She will be missed
Virginia is survived by her children, Sons, Terry (Paula) Fillingim of Evansville, IN, Dr. Larry (Jill) Fillingim of Ridgway, IL and a daughter, Nancy (Dr. Steve) Raben of New Baden, IL. Grandchildren, Tim(Tiphani), Tricia(Andy), Alex, Josh, Jacob, Jordan and Kiran. Great Grandchildren, Aidan, Dominic, and Cassie She was preceded in death by a grandson, Andy Fillingim, a sister, Margie Sewell, 2 brothers, Carl Jr and Charles Crayne
Visitation for Virginia will be Saturday, January 4, 2020 at the Cox & Son Funeral Home in Ridgway from 10:00 AM to 12 Noon. Her funeral will immediately follow the visitation with Rev. Duane Faulkenberry officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Jackson Cemetery in Ridgway following her service.
