Virginia R. Leavell, age 75 of Carrier Mills, IL but longtime resident of Gallatin County, died Wednesday, January 4, 2012. Virginia was born on December 30, 1936 in Eagle Creek Township in Southern Gallatin County to the late Charles and Virgie (Syers) Baldwin. She was first married to Bill Clifford who preceded her in 2000. She then married Kenneth Leavell who survives. Virginia was a member of the Harvest Deliverance Church in Harrisburg. She loved to walk, be outside, fish, cook and was a loving person. She will be missed.

Virginia is survived by 1 son, James (Cassie) Clifford of Carrier Mills, 3 daughters, Montana (Randy) Isom of Carrier Mills, Brenda Craig (partner, Robert Rich) of Eldorado, and Dessie (Darren) Duncan of Thousand Oaks, CA. 1 Brother, Herrel Baldwin of Raleigh, IL, 3 sisters, Dorothy Mannring of Rockford, IL, Mary Heath of Harrisburg, Il, and Virgie Rennier of Karbers Ridge, IL along with 1 Step son, John Clifford, 2 Step Daughters, Viola Kisner of New Haven and Sue Spoonmoore of Carmi, IL. 8 Grandchildren, 9 Step Grandchildren, 9 Step Great Grandchildren. Preceded also in death by 3 brothers and 5 sisters.

Visitation for Virginia will be on Saturday, January 7, 2012 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the Cox & Son Funeral Home in New Haven. The funeral service will follow the visitation starting at 1:00 PM at the funeral home with Rev. Ownly Williams officiating and interment to follow at the Union Ridge Cemetery in New Haven.

In lieu of flowers the family will accept donations to help with cost.
