Virginia Lee Zirkelbach, age 89 longtime Ridgway resident passed on this life, Tuesday, December 19, 2017 in Ferrell Hospital, Eldorado, IL.  Lee as most knew here was born in Ridgway on March 7, 1928 to the late Claude and Pearle (Smith) Ingelton.  On Feb. 7, 1949 she married the late Cletus “Peewee” Zirkelbach.

Lee loved to play Bingo, Shop, Travel and follow the St. Louis Cardinals.  She was known for her wonderful quilts and how appropriate she will be laid to rest during her favorite time of the year, Christmas.  Lee had worked at the St. Joseph School lunch room as a cook for many years.  She was a faithful member of the St. Kateri Catholic Church in Ridgway and the Altar Society.  Her faith was always first in her life and it always showed.  She had a beautiful smile and will be missed by many.

Lee is survived by her son, David (Renee) Zirkelbach of Ridgway, 3 daughters, Nancy (Denny) Jones of Sherman, IL, Susan (Rick) Holland of Harrisburg, IL, and Rachel Zirkelbach of O’Fallon, IL.  She has 5 grandchildren, Erica (Mike) Catone, Heather, (Mike) Scott, Charles (Amanda) Holland, Brandon Zirkelbach and Megan (Josh) Gill. Along with 7 great grandchildren.  Lee is preceded in death by her parents, husband and 3 sisters, Phyllis Ingelton, Joye McGrew, Shirley Kingston.

Visitation for Lee will be on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at the Cox & Son Funeral Home in Ridgway from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a Rosary being recited at 4:00 PM.  Her funeral mass will be on Friday, December 22, 2017 at the St. Kateri Catholic Church in Ridgway starting at 10:00 AM with Fr. Steven Beatty as Celebrant.  She will be laid to rest in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Ridgway next to her husband.

Memorial contributions in her memory can be made to the St. Kateri Building fund in her memory; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
