Vivian S. Hickerson, age 85 of Dayton, Texas passed on this life, Monday, August 12, 2019 in Houston, Texas.

Vivian was born near Karbers Ridge, IL on July 2, 1934 to the late Granville and Equilla (Potts) Milligan.  She graduated from Equality High School and pursued a career as a Beautician having shops in New Haven, Ridgway and Texas.  She also owned and operated a Bar/Restaurant in Texas and ran a Trucking company until age 79 when she finally retired.  She had a strong work ethic instilled by her parents growing up in the Eagle Creek and Karbers Ridge community.  In her young days her and sisters played and sang gospel music on WEBQ.  She had giving and kind soul and will be missed.

She is survived by her companion of over 20 years, Mike Quilliams of Dayton, Texas, her daughter, Fonda Hoy of Texas and a brother David Miligan of Harrisburg.  Grandchildren, Dianna, Karrie, Brian and Daniel.  She was preceded in death by her 2 son, David and Daniel Hickerson and 3 sisters.  Faye Cissna, Ruby Blazier and Mary Pyle.

Visitation for Vivian will be on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at the Cox and Son Funeral home in Ridgway from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.  Her funeral will immediately follow at 1:00 PM at the funeral home and she will laid to rest in the Elmwood Cemetery near Equality.
