William Tarrence

William "Bill" Tarrence, age 69 of Old Shawneetown, IL passed away on December 14, 2023, in Sturgis, KY. Bill was born June 23, 1954, in Eldorado,IL to Billy and Fern (Randall) Tarrence.
He was a member of Apostolic Holiness Church of Sturgis, KY. Bill was a U.S. Army Veteran. Bill was a loving Husband, Dad, Brother, Uncle, Grandfather and noble friend to others. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, playing pool,making dinner for family and friends, and was an avid hunter. Bill had worked as a Coal Miner, Welder, Chief Engineer and River Boat Port Captain Pilot.
Bill is survived by his present wife,Tamberly Tarrence of Sturgis,KY and his previous wife, Vicky Tarrence of Maryville, IL. Three sons, Spencer Tarrence of Highland, IL, Blaine Tarrence, Mack Thornton, Jr. of Sturgis, KY. Two daughters, Rachel Tarrence of Maryville, IL. Blessing Joy Bonefield of Spearfish, South Dakota. Five grandchildren, Eden Chitwood of Chicago, IL. Gavin Tarrence of Maryville, IL. Alice Bonefield, William Bonefield of Spearfish, South Dakota, Noah Thornton, of Sturgis, KY.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by three sisters, Donna Yates, Mary Curry, Linda Hart.

Visitation will be from 6-8pm on Wednesday December 20, 2023, at Cox & Son Funeral Home in Shawneetown, IL. Interment at Callicott Cemetery will held at a later date.
