Winnie Betts

Winnie M. Betts, age 86, longtime Old Shawneetown resident passed on this life peacefully on October 4, 2019 in the Eldorado Nursing and Rehab.  Winnie was born in Mississippi on March 16, 1933 to the late Price and Nettie Ray.  She was married to Lester Betts who preceded her in death.

Winnie and Lester owned operated the the Frontier Lounge in Old Shawneetown  before retiring.  She loved to play Bingo, visit with her family and friends and always had smile for you.  She was a good wife, mother, grandmother and friend and will be missed.

Winnie is survived by her daughter, Donna Hubbs and a son, Lester Betts, JR. 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.  She was also preceded in death by 2 daughters, Mary Ann Betts, and Winda Wenzel and a son, Robert Betts.

Winnie will be laid to rest in the Westwood Cemetery in Shawneetown with her husband Lester.  Her  services will be private.
