Betty Heffington

August 28, 1941 — August 10, 2021

Betty J. Heffington age 79 of Shawneetown died at her home on August 10th 2021 at 2:45PM She was born on August 28th 1941 in Union County, Ky to the late Sam and Mary (Wolfe) Heffington. She was a homemaker. She helped in taking care of her Mom, siblings, their children and her grandchildren, and her great grandchildren. She was always the babysitter. She loved her grand babies. She never made any difference between hers, and the step grandchildren. They were all hers and she loved them all. She loved helping people. She said she never felt right selling things, and would rather give it to someone. Always stocking up on food, and stating someone might need it. She loved Christmas, and buying gifts for everyone. She would save all year for it. She was a bigger kid than all of us, and anyone who knew her well will have a laugh at just the word gown tail. Betty enjoyed spending time with her family, always wanting them close and getting along. Known for hosting the big holiday dinners with the family. She enjoyed jewelry and pretty things for her home, listening to old music, or watching a good movie. She loved to read her bible everyday, she planted the seed in the family for everyone to know God and understand his word. She took her children, many family members and friends to church. She loved to sing in church. If you needed prayer, she was always a call away. She always expected a kiss goodbye and tell her I love you, and a call when you made it home.

You have given so much. Thank you for always being there for us, loving us, and always praying for us. We will work hard to reach the wishes you wanted for us. She was a good mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be missed by her family and community. Farewell Mama you were simply magnificent to us all.
