Ermine Clifford

December 6, 1925 — May 6, 2019

Ermine “Erma” Logan Clifford, 93 of Marion, Kentucky (formerly of New Haven, IL) passed away on Monday, May 6, 2019 at Baptist Health of Paducah after living a full life.

Ermine was born on December 6, 1925 in Grayville, White County, Illinois, the second child and eldest daughter of Arnold and Fanny (Taylor) Logan.

Ermine was a member of Union Ridge Presbyterian Church, Norris City, Illinois and Salem Methodist Church, Salem, Kentucky.

She married Charles “Elmer” Clifford on February 21, 1944.  She and her husband lived and raised a family in Milwaukee County, Wisconsin before retiring and returning to Southern Illinois.

She left behind a living legacy of 5 generations  including 2 daughters and their husbands; Marty and Joe Kaiser of Marion, KY and Jennie and Leonard Stadler of Harrisburg, IL;  her son and his wife, Alan and Marlene Clifford of New Harmony, IN;  5 grandchildren, Matthew Ziebell (Allison) of Oakdale, CA, Bradley Ziebell of Steilacoom, WA, Christina Clifford of Alpine, TX, Elizabeth Stallings and Sharon Murray, both of Evansville, IN;  9 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren; her sister Virginia “Ginny” Andry of New Harmony, IN and a brother and his wife, Melvin and Gerda Logan of Vista, CA,  brother-in-law and wife, Ernie and Faye Clifford, and sister-in-law, Faye Bass; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Charles “Elmer” Clifford, her son Charles Wayne “Chuck” Clifford, her parents, brothers Jack Logan and Mitchell Logan and her sister Mary Lena Vaupel,  her sisters-in-law Lillie Mae Bridgeman, Ruth Evelyn Leeke and Mary Lou Gibbons and brothers in law Howard Jr. Clifford and Roy Gene Clifford.

Graveside memorial services will be Saturday, May 11, 2019, 1 PM, at Union Ridge Cemetery near New Haven,  Those wishing to attend should go directly to the cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 9, 2019, from 5 to 7 PM, in the chapel of Boyd Funeral Directors and Cremation Services in Salem, KY.

Boyd Funeral Directors and Cremation Services, and Cox and Son Funeral Home are jointly handling arrangements.
