Paul Bauer

September 5, 1941 — February 16, 2019

Paul R. Bauer, 77, of Zephyrhills, Florida passed peacefully on February 16, 2019 at Rucki Hospice Center of Florida in Zephyrhills, Florida (Gulfside Hospice and Pasco Palliative Care) surrounded by his family.  Born in Mt. Vernon, Indiana on September 5, 1941 to the late Frankie and Reba (Sexton) Bauer, he formerly resided in New Haven, Illinois, Lakeland, Florida and Riverview, Florida.

On November 15, 1959 he married his high school sweetheart, Sherry (Clifford) Bauer and had two children, Jeff and Becki.  The family moved from New Haven, Illinois to Lakeland, Florida in 1979.  As a service engineer for Bird Machine and Voight Sultzer for 21 years, his profession took him to many places all over the world.    He was an accomplished woodworker and enjoyed making heirlooms for his family including custom shelves, frames, cradle, cabinets and display cases.  He enjoyed time with his family the most, sharing laughter, memories and fun times.   He will be greatly missed by his family.

Paul is survived by his loving wife, Sherry (Clifford) Bauer, of Zephyrhills, FL; a son, Jeff Bauer and his wife Sonya Morgan of Lakeland, FL; daughter, Becki Bauer Colding and her husband, Michael Colding and their son, Cody, of Plant City, FL; sister Bonnie (Roy) Brown of Mt. Vernon, IN; sister Delores McDermott of Lakeland, FL; step grandsons, Donavon Dunson of Lakeland, FL and Cedric Dunson of Liberty, KY.    Paul was preceded in death by his brother, Donald “Buddy” Bauer.

A small family service was held on February 23, 2019 in Tampa, Florida.

A graveside service will be held on May 26, 2019 at the Union Ridge Cemetery in Herald, IL (near New Haven) at 11:00AM with Reverend Ernie Clifford officiating.

Following the graveside service, a celebration of life luncheon will be held at the Higher Ground facility (near cemetery) located at 1179 County Road 350, New Haven, IL.
