Robert Day, Sr.

Robert Lee Day, Sr, age 72, of New Haven, IL and formerly of Harrisburg, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 21, 2019 with his wife of 51 years, Betty and his family by his side.  Robert was born in Harrisburg, IL on May 20, 1946 to the late Herman and Flossie (Dowdy) Day.  On May 20, 1967 he married the love of his life, Betty (Burton) Day.

Robert was an electronic technician by trade and enjoyed working and tinkering with everything electronic and motorized.  If you needed it, whether it was a nut or solar panel, he had it for you.  If it needed fixed, he could fix it.

Robert is survived by his wife Betty of New Haven, his son, Robert ,Jr and wife Barbara Day of Evansville, IN, grandson, Robbie III and wife Brianna Day of New Haven, Johnny Marklin of Evansville, IN and Timmy and wife Kayla Day of Brookport, IL and 1 great granddaughter, Mackensey Cox.

Visitation for Robert will be on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at the Cox & Son Funeral Home in New Haven from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM with the funeral service immediately following.  Rev. Clifford Clark will officiate and he will be laid to rest afterwards in the Ingram Hill Cemetery near Harrisburg. IL

Robert loved God and his family.  He will be missed by many, most of all his wife and family.  Rest easy Robert, we loved and will miss you.
