Walter Bond

April 24, 1935 — January 12, 2019

Walter Cleve Bond, age 83 longtime Ridgway resident and businessman passed on this life Saturday, January 12, 2019 in the Gallatin Manor Nursing and Rehab Center in Ridgway.  Cleve as most knew him was born in Mill Shoals IL on April 24, 1935 to the late O.F. and Lorene (Clark) Bond.  The Bond family amongst a few other Mill Shoals families moved to Ridgway in the 1940’s to work.  Cleve had worked for the family business Bond Brothers Sawmill and Hardwood which is still in business.  Cleve was very knowledgeable in the hardwood and moulding design.  He looked after Crawford Campground cemetery for many years.  He served his country in the U.S. Army and enjoyed his family.

Cleve is survived by a sister, Joyce Bond, 3 brothers, Clarke Bond, Carl (Linda) Bond and Gene (Sandy) Bond.  Many nieces and nephews.   He was preceded by brothers, Doug and Cletus Bond.

Services will be private for Cleve and he will be laid to rest in Crawford Campground Cemetery with military rites.
